Thinking about Publications?

The Amphora Issue of MHJ is currently seeking submissions for its 2013 publication.

The Amphora Issue is a publication for research in Ancient World Studies by Australian and Aotearoa/New Zealand postgraduate and early career researchers. As a regular issue of the Melbourne Historical Journal (MHJ), The Amphora Issue is a peer-reviewed journal that is open to new approaches and aims to present original research to a wide and responsive readership. The editorial collective aims to support potential contributors through the review process in a constructive manner.

Journal articles should be between 5000-8000 words and constitute an original piece of research. All articles submitted will undergo the review process according to the standard prescribed by the Department of Education, Science and Training HERDC. Manuscripts should not be under review or scheduled for publication by any other journal, and should be substantially different from other published work. The collective asks that all manuscripts conform to our style guide, which can be found at

Articles and queries may be submitted to the Amphora editorial collective via email at To ensure your article is considered for the 2013 publication of The Amphora Issue, please submit your work by 31 March 2013.
